A native of Indiana, Erika Sylvia received a BS in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She earned her CPA from the state of Indiana and started her career in public accounting where she spent several years with Deloitte & Touche LLP. In 2002, she left public accounting for an opportunity with Emmis Communications. She has ridden the roller coaster of the media industry there for the last 16 years as Market Controller with Emmis in Indianapolis.

Erika serves as Treasurer on the corporate board of HOBY, Indiana – whose mission is to inspire and develop youth to a life dedicated to leadership and service. Erika also serves as Treasurer of the board of Westfield Aquatics, a competitive swim team in Westfield, Indiana. She was also a member of the 2013 Women’s Fund of Central Indiana Options Class – A program engaging women in exploration of personal and group philanthropy related to the needs of women and girls in the central Indiana community.

Erika is an avid Indiana University Basketball and Indianapolis Colts fan. Her dream job would be to perform on Broadway or to open her own bakery (not that she doesn’t ADORE radio!). She spends her free time with her husband, James; their daughter, Ava Claire; and their rescue dog, Charley.
