David Chipman has a lifelong career in the radio industry, starting as a teenager. Today, he is Senior Vice President/Sales Director at Nielsen, the world’s leading provider of critical media information and analytics around consumer behavior. In this role, Chipman oversees a regional sales team, covering more than 100 metros, including three of the top five and 14 of the top 25 markets.

He began his research career at Arbitron in 2001 as a Senior Account Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2007, he was promoted to Regional Manager, Director of Sales, and then VP/Sales Director following the Nielsen acquisition of Arbitron. Chipman was promoted to Senior Vice President/Sales Director in 2015.

Prior to Arbitron, he spent 18 years in the local radio industry in Utah, starting in programming. He advanced to leadership through his passion in broadcast sales.

Chipman uses his experience to assist his clients in maximizing their research investment. Under his leadership, his team continues to be recognized for their numerous sales achievements and accolades.

He resides in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife, Christine and their two dogs.
