Amy was born and raised in Williamsburg, Kentucky, now calls Somerset, Kentucky home. She attended the University of the Cumberlands, graduating in 2004 with degrees in Communications and Political Science and completed a Fellowship with the University of Kentucky in Entrepreneurship. Amy then studied journalism abroad in London, England and interned with the NBC News London Bureau.
Amy has also served as a Field Representative for a former Kentucky governor and worked in the community relations field with two non-profit organizations in addition to briefly serving as a news producer at WYMT News in Hazard.
Amy began with Forcht Broadcasting in June of 2012 as its Digital Media Director and began as Host of Mid-Mornings with Amy on the Forcht Broadcasting Somerset 106.1 WYKY FM radio station in May of 2013 and was named one of Radio Ink’s Rising Stars in 2014. In January of 2017, she became the Senior Vice President of Forcht Broadcasting.
Amy has made digital media presentations at Kentucky Association of Broadcasters Conferences and has been a panelist for two sessions during the National Association of Broadcasters Radio Show. Additionally, she has been a Guest Professional Faculty for the Kentucky Broadcasters Association/Western Kentucky University Radio Talent Institute and is also a 2018 graduate of the Radio Advertising Bureau, BMI, and Mentoring and Inspiring Women’s Rising Through the Ranks Management Seminar. Currently, Amy serves on the board of the Young Professionals of East Kentucky.
