President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Levine is the founder of the Central New York-based Galaxy Media Partners. Before forming the company, Ed spent more than a decade as an on-air personality and program director, working in Syracuse, Albany, Houston, and Washington, D.C.
In 1990, Ed decided to pursue radio ownership, an idea that seemed like an outlandish dream at the time. In its infancy, Galaxy Media Partners (then known as The Radio Corporation) consisted of one radio station, operating out of the back of a diner in Utica, New York. The company has evolved significantly over time, and today Galaxy is made up of 13 radio stations and 6 translators, plus robust events, digital, and sports marketing divisions.
As one of the rare owner/operators who came up through the programming side of the business, Ed is passionate about merging local programming with community-focused events and innovative digital campaigns to provide real value to listeners and clients alike. The variety in his job is what he loves, explaining that he goes from talking with brand managers about music to planning events in other cities.
Ed also loves helping professionals grow into impactful leaders within the company. His passion for his career (and the Yankees, let’s not forget them) is evident within the first few minutes of meeting him. Most importantly though, he is a husband to Pam and a father to Lauren.
