Fred’s mobile app company, jācapps, has been at the forefront of connecting radio with the mobile revolution. In eight years, the company has developed more than 1,200 apps that have generated more than 25 million downloads.
Fred was inducted into the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2005. He received the prestigious Rockwell award from the Conclave in 2012, Radio Ink’s Luminary Award in 2011, and an Outstanding Alumni Award from Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts that same year. He was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2018.
