Dave has been President of the Radio Division of Salem Communications Corporation since January 1, 2010. He had served as Operations Vice President for 14 months prior beginning in November, 2009.
Throughout his 30-year professional career in the radio broadcast communications industry, Dave has provided leadership in promotions, marketing, sales, and management. In 1982, he began in promotions and later moved to sales for WMAQ (now 670 AM WSCR). Dave rose to be the top billing Account Executive at WMAQ and lead the sales team in acquiring new business. Nine years later, he joined News Radio 780 WBBM as senior account executive. In 1997, Dave was named local sales manager for WBBM and 18 months later was promoted to general sales manager. There he lead the sales department to record setting sales including and launching their sales effort after acquiring rights to the Chicago Bears broadcasts.
In 2001, Dave felt called to use his talents and abilities in a more significant way, and, after much prayer and consideration, he resigned from WBBM and joined Salem to manage the Chicago market. In 2003 he was promoted to VP/GM and was given oversight of Salemís Milwaukee cluster of stations, and in 2004 he helped launch News Talk 560 WIND, Salemís conservative News Talk formatted station. In his time with Salem in Chicago he lead his team to an all-time revenue high and to a record high profit level . Once promoted to the position of Operations VP, he developed significant national promotional campaigns that had never before been done at Salem. These promotions resulted in significant profits in a crucial time in Salemís history.
Dave and Barbara, his wife of 29 years, and their 13 year old daughter reside in Camarillo, California. Three other adult children are working professionally or attend colleges in Illinois.
