MarQuinn was born and raised in Dallas. Despite growing up in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city, he gained all the necessary skills to be a success story – refusing to let his environment deter him from reaching his goal of being in the radio/broadcast industry.

MarQuinn graduated high school from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas and was accepted at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. After spending a year at Jarvis, MarQuinn was then accepted to the University of North Texas and transferred heading into his sophomore year.

Throughout the years MarQuinn has showed great leadership skills, becoming the president of the Zeta Xi chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at Jarvis Christian College and the chairperson of the 2007 Membership Intake Orientation Meeting for the Zeta Upsilon chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi at the University of North Texas.

Through a personal relationship with a fraternity brother, MarQuinn landed an internship in New York City with the Hip Hop Summit Action Network, under the leadership of Russell Simmons, Dr. Ben Chavis and Valeisha Butterfield-Jones. While working in New York, MarQuinn had the opportunity to serve as Executive Assistant to Valeisha Butterfield-Jones (Executive Director). He helped coordinate a 5-city national tour headlined by Russell Simmons, himself, in 2008 for the “Turn Up The Vote” National Youth Voter Empowerment Tour.

Currently, MarQuinn serves a pivotal role in the fast-paced and exciting world of radio, working as the Marketing Manager for Radio One Dallas, home to KBFB-FM (97.9 The Beat) and KSOC-FM (BOOM 94.5). He enjoys meeting with and working side-by-side with some of the brightest minds in radio, TV and mainstream entertainment, under the leadership and direction of Aaron Payne (Marketing & Promotions Director) and Tami Honesty (General Manager)
