Steve Shultis

Steve Shultis is the Chief technology Officer for NY Public Radio, home to three of the country’s leading public radio stations – WNYC FM, WNYC AM and WQXR FM – as well as New Jersey Public Radio, The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, The Gothamist and podcast powerhouse WNYC Studios.

Since joining NYPR in the 1980’s, Steve applies his background of broadcast production, facilities infrastructure, RF and IT technologies to oversee and grow a multi-disciplinary team covering the technology, operations, facilities and archives for NYPR as the enterprise has expanded and changed through the years, including the New York City transmission infrastructure rebuild and hardening post-911 and the design and move to new, state-of-the-art 90,000 sq. ft. broadcast facility in SoHo, Manhattan.

Steve is an active member of the Audio Engineering Society and the NRSC where he currently serves as Chair of the Data Services and Metadata Subcommittee and participates in the two working groups within the committee.

Steve lives in the Hudson Valley on a small farm with his family and pasture-ranged poultry.
